What is LiveTrack Personal Tracking?
It’s a range of GPS tracking devices that transmits current location via Vodacom’s network and is accessible though a WAP-enabled cellphone or Internet-connected computer. LiveTrack uses detailed maps to locate the exact position of any person or vehicle.
How does LiveTrack work?
The LiveTrack device is designed with highly advanced GPS technology, which transmits location information in real time via the national cellular network. All movement details are recorded, allowing the user to access real-time or historic movement patterns over the Internet. LiveTrack works wherever there is GPRS cellular network coverage and continues to record tracking data on its built-in memory even if the network coverage is unavailable
How is LiveTrack different from other tracking devices?
LiveTrack gives you the power to track any person whilst they carry the device on their person. You can track and view the device’s movements on the Internet or with a WAP-enabled cellphone. LiveTrack also lets you subscribe to customised services, and you only pay for what you subscribe to.
What additional features does LiveTrack offer?
One of the most valuable features on the LiveTrack devices is the SOS button, which sends an emergency signal, in real time and alerts pre-determined contact numbers that you have an emergency. The Geo-fencing service allows the user to define zones and receive instant notification if the LiveTrack device exits or enters certain ‘No-Go’ and ‘Stay-Within’ areas, such as a child remaining within in the school grounds or a driver deviating from a predefined route.
What are the benefits of using the LiveTrack Personal Tracking service?
Does the system offer any privacy?
Yes. The system offers a ‘ghost’ mode that effectively disables the device’s electronic signal on the mapping interface. Tracking will only become visible again if ‘ghost’ mode is switched off or if the SOS button is activated

What is interval tracking?
You can allow the device to be tracked in varying intervals, e.g. track every five minutes, or track every 10 minutes, etc. It is important to note though that the longer the interval, the longer the battery will last. What guarantee can Vodacom give customers on the tracking service?
