Vodacom is increasing subscriptions on selected price plans effective 01 May 2015.

Customers on Top Up and uChoose Flexi plans that have an increase in subscription, will receive an additional monthly airtime allocation as indicated in the table below. As such, the price plan names will change to reflect the new monthly airtime allocation. Please note that terms and conditions remain the same.

1. Why is Vodacom increasing subscription prices?
For more than 20 years, Vodacom has worked to increase the speed, quality and breadth of mobile coverage in South Africa. At the same time, we’ve focused on making our services better, faster and more affordable despite the effect of inflation on our costs.
Even with the cost efficiency programmes we have been implementing over the years to keep prices stable for our customers, challenges in South Africa’s economic macro environment have left us with no choice but to consider slight price increases on some of our product offerings. This is to ensure that we can continue to support the level of service we provide to all our customers on a sustainable basis.
2. Does the increase apply to all customers on contract?
The price increase applies to selected contract price plans and will apply to both new and current customers, including upgrades.
3.Why is it just these selected contract plans that were affected and not all price plans?
We reviewed each product on a case by case basis and applied a subscription increase where necessary.
4. Why are you increasing existing contracts and not just new ones? Is this legally permissible?
Our terms and conditions do make provision for changes to existing contracts.
5. How does this impact my discounts?
There will be no changes in the current percentage discounts and all terms and conditions remain the same.
6. Why is the name of my price plan changing?
The new name reflects the increased airtime value you will be allocated each month, e.g. you will receive R110 monthly airtime value if you are on a uChoose Flexi 110 price plan.
