Home Internet Price Increase FAQ’s

1. Why is there a price increase?

To keep you – and millions of South Africans – connected to the people and moments that matter most is at the heart of who we are. And to help achieve this, we continuously invest in our network to give you a fast, smooth, and reliable experience.

Vodacom SA plans to invest around R12.0 billion of capital expenditure in the current financial year to further enhance customer experience.  This highlights Vodacom’s ongoing commitment to network upgrades, expanding 5G coverage, and delivering advanced digital services to maintain world-class standards on South Africa’s Champion Network.

To support these improvements, there will be an annual price update from 1 February 2026. We’ve kept this as low as possible, with subscription changes ranging between 5%* to 9%.*

 

2. When will the annual price increase come into effect?

From 1 February 2026.

3. Will the annual price increase be applied to all plans?

The following postpaid contract plans: RED Integrated, RED Flexi, RED VIP, Home Internet (FWA), Mobile Broadband (SIM-Only data), and Legacy plans will be impacted by the price increase.

4. How do I know what price plan I am on?

Open the VodaPay app and then follow this pathway: View all > My account > Account details > Manage my number

6. Will this change my device financing?

No. We’ve absorbed additional costs to keep device fees, SMS and MMS rates and out-of-bundle data rates unchanged.

7. Are you allowed to change the price?

Vodacom reserves the right to update their terms and conditions as long as customers are made aware of any changes at least 20 working days beforehand. This also doesn’t breach Consumer Protection Act  as the increase is in line with inflation.

8. What if I only just signed my contract?

You’ve joined us during our annual price increase period, however we do understand your cost pressures. That’s why all new and upgrading customers will be given a 2 (two) months grace period.  Please see grace period timelines below.

9. Does the price increase apply to family deals with three lines?

Yes, if the lines are chargeable then price increase will apply.

10. Does the price increase apply to 2025 Black Friday promotions?

Black Friday deals and promotions have been granted a 2-month grace period.  Their increase will be effective 01 March 2026.

11. Does the price increase apply if I’m no longer under contract and on a month-to-month basis?

Yes, it applies to all postpaid contract customers (in-contract and out-of-contract). Those out of contract may experience higher costs because of promotional add-ons and/or discounts falling away at the end of the contract term.

12. I didn’t get any notification of this update?

Vodacom will send out communication to existing customers both a combined email (inclusive of all plans) and an SMS between Mon, 08 - Tue 10 December 2025. Please see below table when price increase will impact customers who sign up or upgrade from 01 November 2025.

RED Plans Price Increase FAQ’s

1. Why is there a price increase?

To keep you – and millions of South Africans – connected to the people and moments that matter most is at the heart of who we are. And to help achieve this, we continuously invest in our network to give you a fast, smooth, and reliable experience.

Vodacom SA plans to invest around R12.0 billion of capital expenditure in the current financial year to further enhance customer experience.  This highlights Vodacom’s ongoing commitment to network upgrades, expanding 5G coverage, and delivering advanced digital services to maintain world-class standards on South Africa’s Champion Network.

To support these improvements, there will be an annual price update from 1 February 2026. We’ve kept this as low as possible, with subscription changes ranging between 5%* to 9%.*

 

2. When will the annual price increase come into effect?

From 1 February 2026.

3. Will the annual price increase be applied to all plans?

The following postpaid contract plans: RED Integrated, RED Flexi, RED VIP, Home Internet (FWA), Mobile Broadband (SIM-Only data), and Legacy plans will be impacted by the price increase.

4. How do I know what price plan I am on?

Open the VodaPay app and then follow this pathway: View all > My account > Account details > Manage my number

6. Will this change my device financing?

No. We’ve absorbed additional costs to keep device fees, SMS and MMS rates and out-of-bundle data rates unchanged.

7. Are you allowed to change the price?

Vodacom reserves the right to update their terms and conditions as long as customers are made aware of any changes at least 20 working days beforehand. This also doesn’t breach Consumer Protection Act  as the increase is in line with inflation.

8. What if I only just signed my contract?

You’ve joined us during our annual price increase period, however we do understand your cost pressures. That’s why all new and upgrading customers will be given a 2 (two) months grace period.  Please see grace period timelines below.

9. Does the price increase apply to family deals with three lines?

Yes, if the lines are chargeable then price increase will apply.

10. Does the price increase apply to 2025 Black Friday promotions?

Black Friday deals and promotions have been granted a 2-month grace period.  Their increase will be effective 01 March 2026.

11. Does the price increase apply if I’m no longer under contract and on a month-to-month basis?

Yes, it applies to all postpaid contract customers (in-contract and out-of-contract). Those out of contract may experience higher costs because of promotional add-ons and/or discounts falling away at the end of the contract term.

12. I didn’t get any notification of this update?

Vodacom will send out communication to existing customers both a combined email (inclusive of all plans) and an SMS between Mon, 08 - Tue 10 December 2025. Please see below table when price increase will impact customers who sign up or upgrade from 01 November 2025.

Vodacom Fixed services subscription price update 2026

As South Africa's leading network, we're committed to keeping you connected.

One of our top priorities is to provide value through the products and services we offer and we remain committed to keeping our prices as low as possible.

However, as a result of these ongoing challenges, we will be effecting an average price increase of 5% on your fixed line services as of 01 March 2026.

This applies to all line items pertaining to your Vodacom Business fixed line connectivity and telephony services.

NB! You should only get a price increase if your services have a contract start date of 01 March 2025 or earlier.

As we move forward in 2026 and continue to provide a quality service, we are keeping costs as low as possible with our subscription price increase at 5%.

    What service plan am I on?

    For Business Internet services, you can check your service plan by logging in to the myBI App. Alternatively, you can call 082 1940 or 082 1951 for support.

    What price increase can I expect?

    A Price Increase of 5% will be applied across all impacted products

    What is my new monthly subscription amount?

    Your new monthly subscription amount will be 5% more than what it was previously. For a detailed view of your bill, please contact your Account Manager for more information.

    Will any of my other plans be impacted?

    If you have multiple Vodacom Business Fixed products, you may well be impacted. Please refer to the list above to see how you will be impacted (Please note if you have other Business Internet, Fixed Voice or Managed services products you should definitely check)  

    How do I change my plan?

    You can contact Customer Care by dialling 082 1940, your Vodacom Account Manager or your company administrator for assistance.

    Will this price increase affect the bundles I buy?

    No, it won't.

    Are you allowed to change the price of my plan?

    Vodacom reserves the right to review the pricing of services where necessary, charges levied by Vodacom may vary from time to time and Vodacom shall provide you with at least 20 (twenty) business days' notice of such variations before they take effect. 

    The price of my plan increased but I wasn’t notified?

    Communication was sent out to all affected customers (via email) between within the first week of February 2026. Please contact your Account Manager or call 082 1940 for more information.

    I have more than one Fixed Connectivity Service with Vodacom, will I get a price increase on all Services?

    Yes, provided the services you have are included in the impacted list above, you will get a price increase across all your services.

    Will I get a price increase if I signed up for a Black Friday promotion in November 2025?

    No, you will only get a price increase if your services have a contract start date on or after 01 March 2025. If you signed up for a service on or after 01 March 2026, you will be exempted from this price increase.

    I am on a month-to-month plan, does the price increase apply to me?

    Yes, the increase applies to in-contract and out-of-contract customers on a month-to month. 

    Will I get a price increase if I upgraded my existing contract between 1 March 2025 – February 2026?

    No, you will only get a price increase if your services have a contract start date of 28 February 2025 or earlier. If you signed up for a service on or after 01 March 2025, you will be exempted from this price increase.

    Our Business Internet Fibre provides high-speed Internet access to businesses, whether you are a small start-up or a large enterprise with higher bandwidth requirements. When you get a Fibre service with us, we give you the flexibility to choose from a range of uncapped offerings from 10mbps to 200mbps, dynamic or static IP addresses and symmetrical bandwidths.

    In addition, all our offerings include a Vodacom S90 Ultra, FREE Installations when you get a 24- and 36-month contract and FREE LTE while you wait and 50GB Failover services for a limited time only.
